Out For The Season

I think I jinxed myself last post when I mentioned that I was finally fully prepared for a race because BOOM, I am now out for the season! Without going into to much detail (I’ve shared some more details on Insta if you really feel the need to be nosey) I was rushed into emergancy surgrey with internal bleeding that posed a huge risk, which means I am now on bed rest for the next 2 weeks and can’t even […]

The Road to Prudential Ride London

Ride London is under a month away now and for once I am actually feeling prepared for an event! Prudential Ride London has been nominated the best novice cycling festival in the world. Starting in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, the course then takes you on a 100-mile route on closed roads through the capital, before heading into Surrey’s stunning countryside. Of course the race finishes on The Mall in central London for a majestic finish. I signed up for this event […]

HARP 24 Running Festival 2018

So I know that I was meant to put up a post prior to my race at the weekend but life got in the way, so apologies. I will however pop up more content in the next few weeks as I have a break from races for three weeks. This weekend was the annual HARP running festival held at Rochford Rugby Club, and once again I joined my running club Leigh-on-Sea Striders and competed in a team of 12 women. Last […]

Adidas City Runs 1hr Challenge

I feel like at the moment all I am doing is writing Race recaps, however when I looked at my training diary I realised every Sunday’s run at the moment is a race! Have no fear because I get three weeks off soon so you’ll find out a little more about my training for Ride London and Ironman. On Sunday I took part in the first Adidas City Runs 1hr Challenge at St Paul’s on behalf of Great Ormond Street […]

The Triathlon Addiction Continues – Henley Sprint

On Sunday I took part in my second Sprint Triathlon in Henley-on-Thames and absolutely loved it! We drove up on Sunday morning, of course stopping off at McDonald’s for some breakfast (not recommended pre-race fuel) and plodded along the motorway for two hours until we reached Henley. The plan to originally stay up in Henley, but as always work commitments got in the way so it was an early alarm Sunday instead and to be honest I preferred sleeping in […]

Race For Life Southend 2018

Another year, another Race For Life. I have been running Race For Life now for three years and it still gets me all emotional when I see how many pople take part to raise money for Cancer Research UK. This year I managed to peruade my best friend Amber and her Mum to sign up as I got a discount code for free entry emailed to me (nothing special I think everyone did) a few weeks before the race. I was […]

Rochford 10k Race Recap

It feels like it has been such a long time since I have sat down and written a race recap. Was London really that long ago? After having a 3 weeks off to rest my legs after the London Marathon, I signed up to Rochford Running Club’s 10K. I had been rather nervous to get back out on the road so knew the only way I’d get my arse into gear again for the season was to just get out […]

This Mum Runs Book Review

I started reading this book as part of the Runner Beans Book Club but only just finished it due to misplacing it for several months in a very safe place.  You know the kind of safe place I am talking about? The one that you can not find because it’s a so safe it becomes invisible. “This Mum Runs” is an autobiography of British elite runner Jo Pavey, who has been competing for near on thirty years – thats dedication. […]

Protein World’s 4 Week Slender Blend Challenge

I have been seeing this challenge on Instagram for a few weeks now and i’m not going to lie its perfect packaging and presentation caught my eye more than anything. However, with four weeks left until I have to fit into the tightest dress I think I’ve ever seen in my life (worth it because its beautiful), I thought I’d actually join the challenge to see if I could shift some extra weight of my thunder thighs. After being in […]

London Marathon 2018 Race Recap

I BLOODY DID IT!! Lets just take a few moments or so to let that sink in, because even I haven’t got my head round it yet despite being in complete agony after tackling the 26.2 miles. Also, let me apologise now as I have a feeling this post is going to be a little bit all over the place as the whole event was a whirlwind! The morning of the race I was surprisingly calm however the minute Sol […]
